Collective Mind Reading for the Scrap Book

Some stuff about Social Media and the collective mind.

(MEDiA: art, music, video, even books and posts and combinations of those things)

As an amateur creative in the presence... or fandom (which always feels a bit like presence doesn't it?)
the presence or fandom of other creatives.  Creators.

Ooh I could go religious with this and call creative people "creators."  After all humans are made in the image of God, they told me in Catholic School.

So as an amateur creator... not necessarily making "the heavens and earth" but perhaps a little slice of what you consider to be heaven.  Or what your fans might agree has some connection with the elevated  or at least... and thru adversity... the approach toward such things.  Or back to them.

We are all trying to get back to perfection!  I sort of Believe this.  We are all looking for what feels or means or reminds you of the best experiences.  Immediately or ultimately.  (Whoa that is a big difference though.  Whether you want what makes you feel good now, or if you want to wait and work and save up for what will create a more time-honored eventuality of what you believe is perfect/heavenly/satisfying/rewarding... for you and yours.)

And some of us even get to be literally Creators... creating new Life.  I suppose you could call a new person or even just a pet... your "medium" your canvas, your story or post on the wall of Life.

And then there's all the other forms of Media.  That we feed our hearts and minds.

I want to ask this question out loud...  what does it feel like to create something you believe in?  As an artist of any kind... OR EVEN a fan.

I'm leading toward this new perspective.  I've had friends who are professional fans.  [Allison Haar in Boston, Norma Desmond of San Luis]  Curators, if you will.  To curate, to select and collect, arrange and share what you believe and what matters to those you love.  For reasons that you may or may not understand, but in all ways approve of and support.

Because I'm having this strange experience ... chock it up to increased connectivity.  The world is getting smaller and denser all the time.

I'm noticing that some dreams are coming true before I even set about working on them myself.  It's like being in collaboration with strangers.  Such is the subtle pitch or tonality of the hum of culture that is being shared.  I love it!

It's like, yes there is a collective mind.  And so of course, and especially this time of year, there is a collective mind-reading.

It is not without a sigh of relief.  A peace.

There will always be more work to do, yes, if you want it.  Very human: to continue to want, no matter what you have.

But look!  What you may have just now set out to do, is already being done.  Perhaps already done!  And how satisfying it is to have had a part in it — no matter how near or far, big or small, recognized or remembered or preserved for the group scrap book.
